Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)<\/h3>\n

The Transport Manager CPC is a legal requirement of the operator licencing system for both Standard National and International licences.<\/p>\n

Under current EU law, operators of large goods vehicles seeking an \u2018O\u2019 licence must show that they are professionally competent or employ someone as a transport manager who makes that requirement.<\/p>\n

This ten day course<\/strong> works towards the exam set by the OCR examination board, it provides up-to-date and relevant training for those seeking to enter the field of Transport Management or to demonstrate the professional competence required to meet the operator\u2019s licence requirements.<\/p>\n

Operator Licence Applications<\/h3>\n

The main purpose of goods vehicle operator licencing is to ensure the safe and proper use of goods vehicles and to protect the environment around the operating centres.<\/p>\n

You will need an \u2018O\u2019 Licence if you want to use;
\n\u2022 A vehicle over 3.5 tonne (3500kg) plated weight.
\n\u2022 A vehicle for business, hire or reward.
\n\u2022 A vehicle in conjunction with trade or business<\/p>\n

There are a variety of O licence types that could be suitable to your needs.<\/p>\n

Standard International Licence:<\/h4>\n

This allows you to carry your own goods, and goods for other people for hire or reward, both in the UK and on international journeys. It requires that you and your Transport Manager must each satisfy the requirement of good repute and professional competence.<\/p>\n

Standard National Licence:<\/h4>\n

This allows you to carry your own goods on your own account, or other people\u2019s goods for hire or reward, in the UK and to carry your OWN goods on your own account abroad.
\nIt requires that you and your Transport Manager must each satisfy the requirement of good repute and professional competence.<\/p>\n

Restricted Licence:<\/h4>\n

This only allows you to carry your own goods on your own account within the UK and the EU. You do not have to satisfy the requirement of professional competence.
\nExamples of using a restricted license are: If you produce your own products and deliver them yourself or if you use the vehicle to transport tools or equipment to and from a job, e.g. a scaffolder or builder.<\/p>\n
